March is Problem Gambling Awareness Month

Maryhaven is partnering with the State of Ohio and the National Council on Problem Gambling to raise awareness of, and encourage action for, Problem Gambling Awareness Month.

The month of March, which sees a 30% spike in calls to the national problem gambling helpline, is designed to help raise awareness of the prevention, treatment and recovery services available for those adversely affected by gambling.

Maryhaven’s One More Chance team kicked-off the month presenting at the 16thAnnual Ohio Problem Gambling Conference. To see more photos of the event, click here.

Approximately 2 million (1%) of U.S. adults are estimated to meet criteria for pathological gambling, and another 4-6 million (2-3%) would be considered problem gamblers; yet for many, gambling remains a hidden addiction.
