Group meetings have played an integral role in recovery for decades. Learn more about the history & benefits of groups here. At Maryhaven, we’re proud to offer two group options: an in-person peer group for gamblers which meets on Monday evenings; and a virtual community education group for anyone wanting to learn more about the signs of addiction and recovery. Learn more about each below:

Gambling Group Therapy, every Monday at 5 p.m.

Group therapy is a great way to engage and relate to other peers who may be experiencing similar issues related to gambling. In group, we don’t just talk about problem gambling but daily life issues that may have been impacted by your problem gambling. This includes finances, mental health, relationships, work, relapse prevention, self-help, building coping skills, unhelpful ways of thinking, and so much more.

Group therapy is more effective in conjunction with individual therapy and can be another tool in your toolbox. We are proud to say we are only one of a few problem gambling specific groups in the state of Ohio. If you want to learn more about group therapy for problem gambling as well as other services, please contact us online here or call us at 614-324-5425.

Community Education Group, first Monday each month at 6 p.m.

This group is dedicated to providing education, resources, and guidance for individuals and families dealing with issues related to gambling, substance use, and alcohol. Each session will focus on different aspects of these topics, including understanding the signs of addiction, understanding the disease model of addiction, managing recovery, and accessing local support networks. Whether you’re personally affected or seeking to learn more to support others, our group offers a safe, confidential environment for discussion and learning.

This meeting is held virtually via Zoom on the first Monday of every month from 6-7 p.m. Access the meeting here or via the QR code. To learn more, please call Janet at 614-800-4643.
